One of my favorite foods in the world is mac and cheese. During my travels, I've made it my mission to find the best vegan mac and cheese in the land. This list may change over time but right now these are the top 5 vegan mac and cheese.

5. Violette's Vegan in Las Vegas, NV

My number five top mac and cheese is from a new vegan restirant that opened in February 2015. It was a huge helping of thick, creamy and crunchy on top mac and cheese. Delicious!

4. Doomie's Home Cookin' in Los Angeles, California

Doomie's mac and cheese is the classic version from your childhood. You can get it extra creamy or the blue box version.

3. Homegrown Smoker Vegan BBQ in Portland, Oregon

This food truck serves some of the best vegan food in Portland but their mac and cheese is out of this world. It has a slight spiciness which perfectly compliments all of the food they serve.

2. Souley Vegan in Oakland, California

It was really hard to decide which order the top 2 would take because they are both so amazing. The mac and cheese at Souley Vegan is pure soul food. It has large pasta and really good natural ingredients.

1. Plum Bistro in Seattle, Washington

The "mac and yease" that makes Plum Bistro famous is the number one vegan mac and cheese (pictured above.) I don't really know what they put in this thing but it's so good, it's a good thing that I don't live in Seattle. Because of this mac and cheese alone, we came ate at Plum Bistro again the next day. The portion is kind of small so make sure you get a few for your party. It is a must have when making the vegan rounds in Seattle.

What's your favorite vegan mac and cheese?

  1. Kraft Dinner as we call it in Canada, used to be my fav food before going vegan. I thought I had to give it up (and did for awhile). So far my favourite mac n' cheeze is my own homemade one ;p But the Veggie Grill one is really good. I need to get back to Portland as I missed checking out that food truck!! Tip: Don't try the mac n' cheeze at Source, you'll be disappointed :(

    1. We tried the mac and cheese pizza at Source and we enjoyed it. Didn't have it on it's own though.
