Last year I made a very quick trip down to San Diego for the 4th of July. The city is great but the real beauty lies at the coast and the surrounding areas like La Jolla Cove (pictured above.) I didn't get the chance sample much of the vegan cuisine (my next trip there is sure to fill out this post) but I managed to visit one special spot.

Evolution is an amazing vegan fast food joint across from beautiful Balboa Park. If you plan to eat in, they have plenty of covered outdoor seating or grab something to go at the drive thru. This a great place to reminisce about going to "normal" fast food places before you were vegan. And the best part? They are currently building a second location. I went for the classic burger with fries and a chocolate shake and it was comfort food at it's best.

EVO BURGER
Lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, cheddar, pickles, 1000 island.

Notable Mentions:

Cafe Gratitude

  1. Sounds like a great place to grab a bite! I haven't trekked out to San Diego yet, but love the restaurants in SoCal in general.
