Chico is a small college town with that is bursting with charm and is a nice little place to spend the day. We came across Chico after spending the day with the amazing animal residents of Farm Sanctuary and wanted to stop somewhere for a bite to eat. One place in particular was recommended to us by the staff at Farm Sanctuary so we scooted on over there to check it out. We were not disappointed.

Anomani Sushi is a small unassuming restaurant at the end of a non-descript strip mall in Chico. It's a place you never would have thought to stop, but after you visit, you're really glad you did.
As an appetizer, we ordered the veggie pot stickers (a favorite of ours) and they were really good.
We then moved on to the vegan sushi roll menu. They have a great selection so it was hard to narrow it down to a few rolls we could share. In the end we decided on the rolls 1st, 5th and 99th.
The 5th was made with tempura yam, avocado, sweet chili glaze and semi seeds. This roll was out of this world. The sweet chili sauce was the ingredient that really made it stand out.
The 99th was made with tempera asparagus, avocado, teriyaki sauce, scallions and sesame seeds. While this roll would be really tasty in any situation, it definitely took a back seat to the other two rolls which were just AMAZING.
In general, vegans in California are very lucky with the array and amount of options we have all around us. That is not the case in this area of California, so spots like Anomani need to be supported by the vegetarian and vegan community.
